Kathryn Mayo

Dr. Kathryn Mayo may have grown up across the river in Arkansas, but after graduating from Mississippi State’s College of Veterinary Medicine, she has worked for over two decades in Shelby County as a general practitioner. When she was five years old, Dr. Mayo first felt the desire to be a veterinarian, but she wasn’t absolutely certain it was her calling until she shadowed at a practice in her hometown and found herself leaning in to the surgery table instead of away from it.

When not at work, she homeschools her two boys, enjoys spending time outdoors, and watching tv with her husband, Donny, while their dog (Emmy) lays curled up next to her on the couch. You can also find her writing and directing the student dramas, singing in the choir, and teaching in the student ministry at their church.
